Collector S. Kandasamy inaugurated a three-day exhibition and sale of products made by women self-help groups (SHGs) at Vellalar Women’s College, Thindal, on Wednesday.
Organised by the Tamil Nadu State Rural and Urban Livelihoods Mission and the District Supply and Marketing Society, the College Bazaar runs from September 23 to 25, 9.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The exhibition features handicrafts, handlooms, garments, bags, oils, food products, millets, honey, fruits, turmeric, jaggery and other SHG products. It aims to promote SHG products, provide market access and offer business-management students practical exposure.
Officials appealed to students, teachers and the public to support SHG members by purchasing the products.
