Veeramani: DMK wants SIT to summon CM, 2 Ministers

The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has approached the Madras High Court seeking a direction to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the R. Veeramani POCSO Act case to ascertain whether Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay and Ministers Aadhav Arjuna and C.T.R. Nirmal Kumar had any material in their possession to prove the party’s alleged attempt to shield the Gem Granites founder from the child sexual abuse case. The DMK, represented by its treasurer T.R. Baalu, had filed the petition seeking a direction to the all-women SIT, constituted specifically for the purpose of investigating the case booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act of 2012, to act upon a representation made to it on September 27 for summoning the Chief Minister and two Ministers for inquiry.
