The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) Salem circle principal general manager Ravindra Prasad on Thursday said that an additional 200 mobile towers will be installed soon to improve the network coverage of BSNL in the circle.
Mr. Ravindra Prasad was addressing the media as part of the BSNL’s 26th Foundation Day celebrations.
He said there are 565 mobile towers in the Salem operational area (Salem and Namakkal districts) and 345 towers in the Dharmapuri operational area (Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri districts).
The Salem business area has about 8 lakh mobile customers and 67,000 fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) customers.
As part of the celebrations, BSNL held a mega SIM and FTTH mela focusing on BSNL SIM activations, FTTH customer acquisition and promotion of BSNL plans/services.
BSNL has extended its popular Freedom 2.0 promotional offer till October 12. This offer allows users to test BSNL’s 4G mobile services supported with the indigenous 4G stack for 24 days, Mr. Prasad said.
Stating that the BSNL has extended its popular first recharge Coupon 51 till October 31, Mr. Prasad said customers get unlimited voice calls, 2GB data/day, and 100 SMS/day for 28 days validity under this coupon.
Also, BSNL is going to introduce a special traffic voucher 349, offering unlimited voice calls, 300 GB data, and 100 SMS/day for 28 days validity with effect from October 3.
