PSGR Krishnammal College Hosts Training for Hostel Wardens

PSGR Krishnammal College for Women organised a one-day training programme for hostel wardens, aimed at enhancing their professional skills and strengthening hostel management practices to ensure student welfare.
The training covered a wide range of topics including setting respectful boundaries, managing interactions with parents, visitors, and external stakeholders, and striking a balance between hospitality and discipline. Special focus was given to mental health awareness, student well-being, and the importance of fostering a positive and inclusive hostel atmosphere. Cultural sensitivity and cross-cultural bonding were encouraged through activities and case studies that helped wardens better understand the diverse student community.
The sessions were conducted by professional trainers Saravana Perumal and Madhumitha, who used interactive methods and practical scenarios to equip the participants with hands-on knowledge. 
Their engaging approach ensured that wardens could relate the lessons to real-life hostel situations.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Dr. Harathi highlighted the importance of continuous skill development for hostel wardens, stressing that effective management should go hand in hand with prioritising student care. AGM–Hostels Latha also spoke on the critical role wardens play in creating a safe and welcoming environment for young women staying away from their 
homes.
Organised by the HR Department, the programme was well received by participants, who expressed gratitude to the management. 
The college reaffirmed its commitment to professional development and to building a supportive, inclusive, and student-friendly hostel culture.
