AIADMK Whip and Kalasapakkam MLA Agri Krishnamurthy launched a strong attack on CV Shanmugam and Tamil Nadu Minister Aadhav Arjuna during a press interaction held at the party’s south district office in Tiruvannamalai.
He alleged that CV Shanmugam had been making repeated remarks against AIADMK and its leadership in recent months and urged him to refrain from making comments against AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami. Rejecting claims that party workers were leaving AIADMK for other political parties, Agri Krishnamurthy asserted that loyal cadres continued to stand firmly behind the party leadership.
He said the party founded by M.G. Ramachandran and strengthened by former Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa was functioning strongly under Edappadi Palaniswami’s leadership. He also dismissed suggestions that AIADMK’s electoral successes were solely due to alliance partners, stating that the party had won several elections on its own strength.
Criticising CV Shanmugam, he claimed that the latter had risen politically because of opportunities provided by Edappadi Palaniswami and should not forget that fact. He also urged Minister Aadhav Arjuna to speak responsibly and avoid making unsubstantiated remarks. Agri Krishnamurthy warned that continued criticism of AIADMK and its cadre would be met with an appropriate political response.
