A multidisciplinary student team from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham secured the National Runner-Up position and won a cash prize of ₹1.5 lakh at the Guidewire DEVTrails University Hackathon 2026 conducted in collaboration with Guidewire and EY.
Participating under the team name “Mog Squad,” the students developed “Continuum,” an AI-powered parametric insurance platform aimed at protecting gig workers from sudden income loss caused by environmental and social disruptions such as floods, heavy rainfall, pollution and unexpected shutdowns.
The team comprised Ashwin K, Kavinesh P, Raam Prathap, Sri Krishna V and Anirudh S. Varrier from the disciplines of Computer Science, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence and Electrical and Computer Engineering.
The hackathon attracted more than 4,400 teams and over 18,000 participants from across the country. The competition focused on developing intelligent insurance solutions to support delivery partners and gig workers during unforeseen disruptions.
The students credited their success to the guidance of Anaswara Suresh M. K, R. Sruthi and Dr. Anbazhagan Mahadevan of Amrita School of Computing, Coimbatore.
