Attack on Christmas a sign of danger!

The recent incidents of violent attacks that have disrupted the celebrations of Christmas across the country have caused a stir. Such attacks have been particularly prevalent in BJP-ruled states.
Here is the list: A communal mob vandalized and damaged the Christmas decorations at the Magneto Mall in Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
Bajrang Dal members entered St. Mary’s School in Nalbari, Assam, and set fire to items used for Christmas celebrations.
In Odisha, vendors selling Santa hats were threatened by Hindu groups. In Delhi, women wearing Santa hats were chased away by Bajrang Dal members.
Members of the RSS and Bajrang Dal recently entered a Catholic church in Bichiwara village in Dungarpur district of Rajasthan and started a riot.
Anju Bhargava, the city BJP vice-president, entered a Christian gathering in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh and started a brawl. A video of her assaulting a blind woman attending the gathering went viral on social media. Last week, Hindu groups encroached on another church there and threw chairs at the attendees, causing violence.
Hindutva groups looted and set fire to Christian churches in Chhattisgarh after raising issues over the funeral of a Christian.
All these are incidents that should not have happened in BJP-ruled states. Similarly, the United Christian Federation has alleged that 600 incidents of violence have taken place against Christians across the country in the last one year.
The attacks on Christians in India during the Christmas celebrations have become a topic of global debate and have caused great pain to Christians. Many leaders have registered their condemnation of these series of incidents.
Such acts of violence against minorities during festive seasons are a direct challenge to the fundamental values of secularism, religious freedom and equality enshrined in the Indian Constitution. It is the duty of the government to immediately identify those behind these attacks and take strict legal action. Furthermore, the central and state governments must take immediate steps to ensure the safety of minority communities, including Christians, in all parts of the country.
Otherwise, it will be a great danger for India, a secular democratic country, in the future!
