CBOA Celebrates Diwali With Homeless People

Team Canara Bank Officers’ Association (CBOA), Coimbatore, celebrated Diwali with residents of the Coimbatore Corporation Shelter for the Homeless at R.S. Puram by distributing clothes to 100 people staying at the facility.

The programme was organised under the guidance of the association’s General Secretary, Ravikumar, and Madurai Circle Liaison, Sundararajan.

Held under the banner “CBOA’s Beacon of Benevolence”, the initiative aimed to share the joy of Diwali with people experiencing homelessness. Its message, “Diwali is not just about lighting lamps; it is about lighting lives”, highlighted the importance of compassion and companionship.

Members of Team CBOA Coimbatore joined the shelter residents in the celebrations, making the occasion a shared festive gathering rather than merely a distribution programme.

The initiative reflected the association’s commitment to community welfare and inclusive celebrations, bringing together 100 people through a gesture of care and togetherness.
