CM inaugurates new school, library and hostel buildings at a cost of Rs. 210 crore

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated new school buildings, district government model school buildings and hostel buildings worth Rs. 210 crore on behalf of the School Education Department.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin today inaugurated 392 new classroom buildings, 4 laboratory buildings, 16 student toilet buildings, 8 drinking water facilities and 2 district government model school buildings and hostel buildings constructed at a cost of Rs. 96.49 crore in 60 government schools in 20 districts at the Secretariat on behalf of the School Education Department and 2 district government model school buildings and hostel buildings constructed at a cost of Rs. 113.68 crore in Cuddalore and Villupuram districts; 68 library buildings constructed at a cost of Rs. 17.82 crore in 20 districts and 3 branch library buildings constructed at a cost of Rs. 1.90 crore in Cuddalore, Thanjavur and Nagapattinam districts at the Directorate of Public Libraries at the Secretariat. He also laid the foundation stone for a new building for the Mayiladuthurai District Central Library at an estimated cost of Rs. 4.40 crore.
For the welfare of students studying in government schools, this government is implementing various pilot schemes such as providing internet facilities in schools, the Chief Minister’s breakfast scheme for government school students, “Illam Thedi Kalvi”, “Ennumum Ezhtum”, “Namma School Foundation”, setting up skill classrooms, setting up high-tech computer laboratories; creating model schools, restructuring the school management committee, and providing free textbooks and educational equipment to students to increase the learning ability of students and raise the standard of education in Tamil Nadu.
