DMK Dravidian pongal festival held at Kottakuppam

The Dravidian Model Government’s “Dravidian Pongal Festival” was held at Kottakuppam near Puducherry by the Kottakuppam Town unit of the DMK, in accordance with the directions of DMK president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and the guidance of Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin.
The programme was organised under the leadership of Kottakuppam Town Council Chairman and Town Secretary S.S. Jayamoorthy.
Villupuram MLA and Villupuram district in-charge Dr. R. Lakshmanan participated as the chief guest, inaugurated the celebrations and distributed welfare assistance to beneficiaries.
The festival witnessed participation from people belonging to different religious communities, including Hindus, Muslims and Christians.
Pongal was prepared in new earthen pots and distributed to all those present, reflecting communal harmony and shared cultural traditions.
Those who attended the programme included State Adi Dravidar Welfare Committee Deputy Chairman Pushparaj, District Minority Wing organiser T.N.A. Thamin, former Vanur MLA Marimuthu, District Environmental Wing organiser V.M.R. Siva, Kottakuppam party treasurer Dakshinamurthy and Medical Wing organiser Vinobharathi.
Kottakuppam Town Council members Farooq, Shanmugam, Aadilakshmi Bhaskaran, Stalin Sukumaran, Veerappan and Nassar Ali, along with all other Town Council members, took part in the celebrations.
Branch Secretary Selvam, Fishermen Wing representative Mani, district party administrators, town subsidiary wing organisers, deputy organisers, ward secretaries and party executives were also present.
More than 1,000 members of the public attended the Dravidian Pongal Festival.
The Town Council members expressed their gratitude to all party functionaries and members of the public who participated and contributed to the successful conduct of the event.
