Mallai Sathya registers Dravida Vetri Kazhagam with Election Commission

Former MDMK Deputy General Secretary Mallai Sathya has formally registered his newly launched political party, Dravida Vetri Kazhagam, with the Election Commission of India.
Mallai Sathya was earlier removed from his post and expelled from the Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam following differences with party
leadership.
After his expulsion, he announced that the name of his new party would be revealed on November 20.
Accordingly, the party name was unveiled at a public meeting held in Adyar, Chennai, where Mallai Sathya launched Dravida Vetri
Kazhagam.
Several functionaries and cadres who were expelled from the MDMK later joined the new
outfit.
Drawing parallels with earlier political realignments in Tamil Nadu.
Mallai Sathya referred to MDMK founder Vaiko, who had quit the DMK citing differences with former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi to form a separate
party.
Similarly, he said his exit from the MDMK followed ideological and organisational differences with
Vaiko.
In the latest development, Mallai Sathya has completed the formal process of registering Dravida Vetri Kazhagam with the Election Commission.
The required documents were submitted through his counsel, advocate Mayilsamy.
The party is expected to begin organisational expansion across Tamil Nadu in the coming
months.
