Samathuva Pongal was celebrated with traditional spirit and cultural splendour at Suguna College of Arts and Science in Coimbatore. The event was presided over by the Chairman of the college, V. Lakshmi Narayanasamy, along with Suguna Lakshmi Narayanasamy. Secretary Srikanth Kannan, Director Dr. V. Sekar and Principal Dr. R. Rajkumar took part in the celebrations and encouraged the students.
The festivities featured a vibrant array of cultural programmes presented by students, including Pongal dance performances, music and classical dance, Paraiyattam and Karagam. Traditional competitions such as kolam drawing and Pongal cooking were also held, witnessing enthusiastic participation. Prizes were distributed to the winners.
Students and staff celebrated the festival in accordance with Tamil customs, dressed in dhotis and sarees, reflecting the cultural pride and heritage of the Tamil people. The event highlighted the spirit of equality and unity symbolised by Samathuva Pongal.
