A special awareness programme on UPSC and TNPSC examinations titled “Vaagai Soodava” was held at Nirmala College for Women here on Thursday, aiming to familiarise women aspirants with the civil services examination process.
The programme was jointly organised by Keystone IAS Academy and Kumudam Magazine to demystify competitive examinations and encourage young women to pursue careers in public service.
Superintendent of Police, Anti-Terrorism Squad, Coimbatore, V. Badrinarayanan, IPS, participated as the Chief Guest and shared his personal journey through the UPSC selection process.
Addressing the students, he stressed that consistency, clarity of thought and analytical ability were far more important than rote learning for success in civil services examinations.
Chairman of Keystone IAS Academy V. V. Moorthy presented a detailed roadmap for the 2026 examination cycle.
He explained the structure and expectations of the Preliminary and Main examinations and advised students to begin focused preparation during their undergraduate studies to gain a competitive edge.
The session, which began at 10.45 am, featured an interactive question-and-answer segment, during which students sought clarification on optional subject selection, preparation strategies and current affairs coverage.
The programme concluded with an appeal to aspirants to make effective use of the academic resources and mentoring support offered by the academy’s Chennai headquarters.
The event was conducted under the leadership of Rev. Sr. Dr. Mary Fabiola, Principal of Nirmala College for Women, and Dr. K. Julia Rose Mary, Dean of Academics.
