Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK president M.K. Stalin intensified his election campaign in Kanyakumari district, engaging in a morning walk outreach at the Mukkadal Sangamam area on Friday.
As part of the campaign, he went door to door, interacting with residents and seeking votes for DMK and alliance candidates. Party functionaries and candidates accompanied him during the walk.
The State is gearing up for the Assembly elections scheduled later this month, with nomination filings under way and the deadline set for April 6. The political arena has witnessed heightened activity, with the DMK-led alliance, AIADMK-led alliance, Naam Tamilar Katchi and Tamil Nadu Vetri Kazhagam contesting, leading to a multi-cornered contest.
Stalin, who had earlier campaigned in Tirunelveli district, arrived in Kanyakumari on Thursday night, where he was accorded a warm reception by party cadres and alliance members. He stayed overnight in the district.
He is scheduled to address a public meeting at the Scott Christian College grounds in Nagercoil, where he will campaign for Kanyakumari constituency candidate Mahesh and Nagercoil candidate Austin, along with other alliance nominees.
