‘CSI Edu Connect 2026’, an educational fair focusing on higher education and career opportunities, was held on May 2 at the CSI All Souls’ Church campus, Race Course, Coimbatore. The event witnessed an enthusiastic response, with students and parents attending in large numbers to explore academic options and understand future career prospects.

The Chief Guest on the occasion was noted educational consultant Jayaprakash Gandhi. Other dignitaries present on the occasion included, Bishop Rev. Prince Calvin of CSI Coimbatore Diocese, Diocese Vice President, Rev. David Barnabas, Diocese Treasurer Amirtham, Dr. Arumai Raj, Director of CSI College of Engineering, Ooty.
A key highlight of the event was an interactive session led by Jayaprakash Gandhi. He spoke about the impact of fast-changing and disruptive technologies on future careers. He stressed the need for students to stay aware of global developments and understand how industries are evolving. He explained that students must continuously upgrade their skills to remain relevant in a competitive world.

He also shared insights on different academic streams and courses available today. He highlighted how interdisciplinary learning is becoming increasingly important, as many careers now require knowledge from multiple fields.
He highlighted that along with academic knowledge, students must develop the right aptitude, willingness to learn, and adaptability to succeed.
Bishop Prince Calvin welcomed the gathering and highlighted the role of the CSI Coimbatore Diocese in the field of education. He noted that the diocese, established in 1950, has been serving regions including Coimbatore and the Nilgiris through several educational institutions.

He explained that the idea behind organizing CSI Edu Connect 2026 was to create awareness about various courses and career options not only for students of CSI institutions but for all students in the region. He welcomed everyone to the first-of-its-kind initiative in the history of the CSI Coimbatore Diocese.
Dr. Arumai Raj delivered the welcome address and spoke about the contribution of CSI institutions in providing quality education. He acknowledged the efforts of the Bishop and the diocesan team in organizing the event. He noted that the fair would benefit students not only from Coimbatore but also from nearby districts. He also pointed out that having Jayaprakash Gandhi as the Chief Guest added value to the event, as students and parents could receive expert guidance on choosing the right academic path.

Over 50 reputed educational institutions from Coimbatore, Tirupur, and the Nilgiris participated in the fair by setting up stalls. More than 1,500 teachers and representatives from higher education institutions were part of the event, making it a comprehensive platform for academic guidance.
Another highlight of the event was a student innovation display. Two final-year Electronics and Communication Engineering students from CSI Engineering College, Ooty- Pradeeban and Shaeson, showcased a drone developed by them. The model, designed to be lightweight and equipped with three speed modes, was built under the guidance of their faculty members and attracted the attention of many visitors.
Students and parents visited the stalls set up by various institutions to gather information about courses, admission procedures, and career pathways. The fair provided a valuable platform for direct interaction with colleges and experts, helping students make informed decisions.
