Swarga Foundation will inaugurate a series of inclusive and accessibility-focused initiatives in Coimbatore aimed at empowering persons with disabilities, senior citizens and marginalised communities.
The programmes include the launch of “Sarathi”, a fleet of five wheelchair and senior citizen-friendly cabs equipped with ramps that will operate across Tamil Nadu. The Foundation will also inaugurate “Swag Café”, an inclusive café managed by persons with disabilities and Corporation conservancy workers.
As part of its “Samarth” initiative, wheelchairs will be distributed to beneficiaries, while under the “Sugamya” project, patented cabin-friendly wheelchairs and ramps will be donated to all railway stations in Coimbatore to improve accessibility for passengers with disabilities.
The projects will be inaugurated in the presence of Backward Classes Welfare Minister V. Sampath Kumar and Coimbatore District Collector Pavan Kumar G. Giriyappanavar, IAS.
