Rs 7.50 crore welfare assistance distributed to 2,207 beneficiaries in polur

Rural Development and Water Resources Minister N. Anand distributed government welfare assistance worth Rs 7.50 crore to 2,207 beneficiaries at a function held at Annamalaiyar Marriage Hall in Polur on Monday. District Collector Vandana Garg and Polur MLA R. Abhishek were present.
Addressing the gathering, the minister said the Tamil Nadu government was implementing various schemes to improve basic amenities, education, healthcare and social welfare. He said efforts were being taken to ensure that benefits reached all eligible people through effective district administration.
Beneficiaries received house site pattas, bank-linked loans for women self-help groups, social investment funds, crop loans, educational and marriage assistance, pensions, wheelchairs and new electronic ration cards. Assistance under agriculture, horticulture, Adi Dravidar welfare and handloom sectors was also distributed.
A total of Rs 7.50 crore worth of welfare measures benefited 2,207 people. District Superintendent of Police M. Sudhakar and senior officials from various departments participated in the event.
