The administration of the Arulmigu Subramania Swamy Temple in Tiruchendur has announced that the ban on the use of mobile phones inside the temple will be strictly enforced from Wednesday in compliance with the directions of the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court. Temple authorities said the restriction on mobile phone usage has been in force since November 14, 2022, following the court’s order.
However, the ban will now be implemented more rigorously to ensure complete compliance with the judicial directive. Devotees will be allowed to enter the temple only after undergoing thorough security checks. Those visiting the temple have been advised to leave their mobile phones safely at their place of stay or inside their vehicles before arriving for darshan.
To facilitate devotees, the temple administration has established designated mobile phone deposit counters at various locations within the temple premises.
Visitors may make use of these facilities before entering the temple. Officials further stated that if mobile phones are found during security screening, they will be collected and kept in secure lockers until devotees complete their visit. The temple administration has appealed to devotees to cooperate with the restrictions to ensure smooth and peaceful darshan for all visitors.
