Sakthi Masala director’s call to conserve water

Women should conserve water and electricity in the same way they save money, said Shanthi Duraisamy, Managing Director of Sakthi Masala companies.
As part of a waste-management initiative at Vasuvapatti in Chithode Town Panchayat, 45 families segregated dry waste generated at their homes for 90 consecutive days and handed it over to the Erode Siragugal organisation once every 15 days. The initiative was jointly organised by Chithode Social Service Project, Siragugal, Chithode Town Panchayat and Yaan Foundation.
To appreciate the families and encourage others to follow their example, silk sarees were presented to 45 women at an event held at Vasuvapatti. Chithode Social Service Project president Shanmugam, Siragugal president Vimal Karuppannan, secretary Sivakumar and Erode Revenue Divisional Officer Muthusamy were present.
Ms. Shanthi Duraisamy, the chief guest, distributed silk sarees to the women on behalf of Sakthi Masala and stationery items made from recycled materials to their children.
