The 100th Founders’ Day celebrations of PSG & Sons’ Charities commenced in Coimbatore on Friday with a series of commemorative events, awards and publications highlighting the trust’s century-long contribution to education, healthcare and social development.
Padmanabhan, Chairman of Tata Chemicals, participated as the chief guest and delivered the Founders’ Day address, tracing the legacy of PSG & Sons’ Charities and emphasising the role of value-driven institutions in nation-building. L. Gopalakrishnan, Managing Trustee of PSG & Sons’ Charities, honoured the chief guest with a memento.

As part of the centenary celebrations, the trust launched the “5th Brother 2.0” chronicle, documenting the journey, vision and milestones of PSG institutions. The publication was unveiled by Padmanabhan, while the first copy was received by L. Gopalakrishnan.
During the ceremony, the PSG Vishwa Seva Rathna Award was conferred on Dr. R. V. Ramani, Founder of Sankara Eye Foundation, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to affordable eye care and community service. The award was presented by the chief guest.
The PSG Vishwa Seva Rathna Award was also presented to Radhakrishnan, IPS (Retd), in recognition of his distinguished service in public administration and policing.
The PSG Vishwa Gnana Rathna Award was conferred on Prof. Navakanta Bhat, Dean, Division of Interdisciplinary Sciences, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, for his contributions to science, research and academic leadership.

Eminent Carnatic vocalist and Padma awardee Kalaimamani Sudha Ragunathan also received the PSG Vishwa Gnana Rathna Award for her lifelong contribution to classical music and cultural heritage.
The centenary celebrations witnessed the participation of trustees, faculty members, students, alumni and invitees, marking a significant milestone in the history of PSG & Sons’ Charities.
