S.V.S.P. Manikkaraja, former Deputy General Secretary of the Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam, joined the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam on Thursday in the presence of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin.
Manikkaraja was recently removed from his post and expelled from the AMMK by the party’s General Secretary T.T.V. Dinakaran. The expulsion order stated that disciplinary action was taken against him for allegedly acting in a manner that brought disrepute to the party.
Following his removal from the AMMK, Manikkaraja formally joined the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam along with several other key functionaries. The joining took place in the presence of the Chief Minister, marking a significant political development.
Speaking to reporters after joining the DMK, Manikkaraja said that the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam had deviated from the ideals for which it was originally founded. He alleged that the party had lost its direction by aligning with forces contrary to its core principles.
Praising the present administration, Manikkaraja said Chief Minister M.K. Stalin was providing good governance and working consistently for the welfare of the people of Tamil Nadu, which motivated him to join the DMK.
