IndusInd Bank felicitates women’s blind Cricket World Cup Champions

IndusInd Bank on Wednesday hosted a special felicitation ceremony to honour the Indian Women’s Blind Cricket Team for their historic triumph at the inaugural Women’s T20 Cricket World Cup for the Blind, marking a major milestone for inclusive sports in the country.
The bank has been extending sustained support to blind cricket in India through its CSR initiatives in collaboration with the Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI), the cricketing arm of the Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled. Through this partnership, IndusInd Bank currently supports the Indian Blind Cricket Team and more than 700 blind cricketers across men’s and women’s categories, contributing significantly to the development of the sport nationwide.
The felicitation ceremony celebrated the team’s landmark World Cup victory and was graced by the bank’s Managing Director and CEO Rajiv Anand, along with Mahantesh Kivadasannavar, Chairman of CABI and Founder Managing Trustee of Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled, besides senior officials of the bank. As a token of appreciation for their exceptional achievement, IndusInd Bank presented the team with a cash reward, recognising their dedication, perseverance and contribution to promoting inclusive sports.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajiv Anand said the historic World Cup victory represented a defining moment for women’s blind cricket and inclusive sports in India. He noted that the achievement reflected the team’s determination and resilience and said IndusInd Bank was proud to stand by the players in their journey. He added that through its partnership with CABI, the bank remained committed to creating a strong and inclusive sporting ecosystem that empowers individuals to perform with confidence and leadership.
Dr. Mahantesh Kivadasannavar said the decade-long partnership between IndusInd Bank, CABI and Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled had played a transformative role in the growth of blind cricket in India. He said the consistent support had helped build public awareness, secure recognition for blind cricketers, and create opportunities such as government employment and cash awards for players. Expressing gratitude to the bank, he said the rise of blind cricket in India to its present stature would not have been possible without IndusInd Bank’s unwavering support.
