The third phase of randomisation for election personnel deployed in eight Assembly constituencies of Tiruvannamalai district was conducted at the District Collectorate on Tuesday in preparation for the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly General Election 2026.
District Election Officer and Collector K. Tharpagaraj oversaw the proceedings in the presence of Election Observers Ravikumar Sarpur, Abhishek Krishna, Satendra Singh and Police Observer Aula Ramesh.
Through the computerised randomisation process, a total of 12,084 personnel, including 3,021 presiding officers, 820 police personnel and 120 micro-observers, were assigned to polling stations. Appointment orders will be distributed on April 22 at designated centres in Chengam, Tiruvannamalai, Kilpennathur, Kalasapakkam, Polur, Arani, Cheyyar and Vandavasi. All personnel will be transported to their respective polling stations by bus the same day.
Subsequently, the Collector and officials inspected the vote counting centre established at the Tiruvannamalai Corporation Regulatory Sales Hall.
Facilities including strong rooms for electronic voting machines, the computer centre, drinking water and power supply were reviewed.
The Collector also examined the process of constituency-wise sorting and dispatch of postal ballots cast by election staff at the Collectorate. Superintendent of Police M. Sudhakar, District Revenue Officer R. I. Rampradeepan and other election officials were present.
