The Railway Administration has announced that the UTS mobile application used for booking unreserved train tickets will be phased out from March 1, with all passenger services to be consolidated under the RailOne app.
Over the years, Indian Railways has steadily expanded digital services for passengers, beginning with online ticket booking through the IRCTC website, followed by automatic ticket vending machines, the UTS app for unreserved tickets, NTES for train running status and Rail Madad for grievance redressal. Facilities such as ordering food on trains and availing concessions have also moved online.
To integrate all these services under a single platform, RailOne was launched in July last year. The app offers ticket booking, complaint registration, food services and other passenger amenities.
As part of the transition, the UTS app will be gradually deactivated. From March 1, new season ticket bookings, renewals, fresh registrations and R-Wallet recharges will be stopped, though platform ticket services will continue temporarily.
Railways clarified that the R-Wallet balance of existing UTS users will be carried forward to the RailOne app. Passengers have been advised to download and switch to RailOne for uninterrupted services.
RailOne App to be sole platform for Rail Services from March 1
