In the 2 day buyer seller meet held from Dec 14 2025 in Erode, Rs 55 cr business was recorded through 84 MoUs and of which Rs 18 cr came as dollor till date, said Federation of all trade and industries association of Erode district (FATIA) president VK Rajamanikkam.
In his presidential address at the inaugural of 4 day 24th build expo of Erode civil engineers association and trust at Erode Parimalam Mahal Erode on Friday, he said that in the buyer-seller meet held in Chennai, Rs 40 cr worth MoUs were signed. For the first time, it was held in tier 2 city Erode in which the response was much good from food, textile, leather industries etc.
For the Chennai meet, the trade associations spent much. But, the Erode meet was held by the government itself by spending over Rs 2.5 cr with the hardwork of over 70 officials.
So, the Centre issued an order to hold this kind of meets in tier 2 cities.
Similar buyer seller meet for food industry will be held at Chennai on Jan 12. Now, the government was giving lot of concession to the
MSMEs.
It is giving Rs 10 lakh subsidy for energy audit also. The units can replace old machines to get the benefit. As the government has chosen a site near IRT Engineering College near Erode for creating an IT Park, the FATIA suggested to use the land of Erode CSI school premises which was declared as government land by the HC for establishing a Trade centre as owned by Codissia in Coimbatore.
The centre was built by Codissia. But here we request the government to build it for the benefit of all trade and industry associations.
In this connection, a memorandum was already given to the government.
He said that instead of doing business locally, hereafter, we should focus on international business for speedy growth of the country, he advised.
Expo chairman MM Manikandan, co- chairman Paul Vijayakumar, Association functionaries K Sampathkumar, D Shanmugan, industrialists SK Selvanayagam, TK Rajesh, VV senthilnathan SK Yoganathan, and Selvamuthukumar attended.
