A Heart touching example of filial devotion has emerged from Rustumpet village near Narsapur in Medak district, Telangana, where two brothers have built a temple in memory of their late parents.
Easwarappa, a farmer from Rustumpet, and his wife Pendamma passed away two years ago. To honour their memory, their sons Siddhi Ramu and Paswanandham (a homeopathic doctor) constructed a small temple on their farmland. Marble statues of their parents have been installed inside, and the brothers now worship them regularly.
Recalling his father’s sacrifices, Paswanandham said: “Whenever Rayarao Cheruvu (lake) overflowed, sand would accumulate in our fields. My father toiled hard to clear it while also ensuring I completed my medical studies. Building a temple on the land where he shed his sweat is the greatest satisfaction of my life.”
The unusual act of constructing a temple for parents has drawn admiration from villagers, who say it is a rare and moving gesture of gratitude. The memorial stands as a symbol of respect for elders and the enduring bond between parents and children.
