Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam President and Chief Minister M. K. Stalin intensified his election campaign in Tiruchirappalli, interacting with traders and the public during a walk through the bustling Gandhi Market area.
As part of the statewide campaign for the 2026 Assembly elections, Stalin has been canvassing support for DMK and Secular Progressive Alliance candidates. He launched the campaign earlier from his native Thiruvarur.
During his visit to Tiruchirappalli, Stalin, accompanied by Ministers K. N. Nehru and Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, sought votes for Inigo Irudayaraj, the DMK candidate contesting from the Tiruchirappalli East constituency.

Walking through the busy market lanes, Stalin engaged directly with shopkeepers, traders and members of the public, appealing for their support in the upcoming elections. The visit drew significant public attention, with many gathering to greet him.
In a lighter moment during the campaign, Stalin stopped at a shop in the market and shared tea with the public, further interacting with locals.
The outreach forms part of the DMK’s broader effort to strengthen grassroots connect and mobilise voter support ahead of the April 23 polls.
