Australian, England cricket boards pay tribute to Bondi victims

Cricket Australia and the England and Wales Cricket Board have joined together to mourn the victims of the tragic incident reported at Bondi in Sydney, expressing grief and solidarity with those
affected.
In a joint statement, the two cricket bodies said they were deeply saddened by the horrific events at Bondi and extended their thoughts and support to the families and friends of the victims, the Jewish community and the people of Australia during this difficult
time.
Australian Test captain Pat Cummins said he was heartbroken by what had unfolded in Bondi and conveyed his deepest sympathies to all those impacted. He also urged eligible citizens to come forward and donate blood to help those injured.
As a mark of respect, national flags were flown at half-mast at the Adelaide Oval, where preparations are under way for the third Test match. South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas said additional security arrangements would be implemented at the stadium as a precautionary measure, stressing that the safety of the public remained the top priority.
Australian off-spinner Nathan Lyon, who resides in Sydney, said the day had shaken everyone and that the entire cricket fraternity stood with the victims and their families.
Meanwhile, former England captain Michael Vaughan said he was at a restaurant in Bondi with his family when the incident occurred.
He recalled being placed under lockdown for more than two hours for security reasons, describing the experience as shocking and difficult to comprehend. According to reports, 27 people injured in the incident, including two children, are currently receiving treatment in hospitals.
