IMTEX forming set to draw global manufacturing leaders of Bengaluru

Asia’s largest exhibition on metal forming and manufacturing technologies, IMTEX Forming 2026, will be organised by the Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association from January 21 to 25, 2026, at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre here, positioning Bengaluru as a major global manufacturing hub.
The five-day exhibition will feature more than 600 exhibitors from 20 countries across four exhibition halls, covering an exhibition area of 46,000 square
metres.
The event is expected to showcase the latest developments in metal forming, digital manufacturing and high-productivity solutions.
IMTEX Forming 2026 will host several concurrent shows. Tooltech will focus on machine tool accessories, metrology solutions, CAD and CAM tools and tooling systems.
Digital Manufacturing will showcase real-time solutions in additive manufacturing and Industry 4.0. Weldexpo, organised in association with the Indian Institute of Welding, will present the latest welding technologies.
Moldex India and Fastenex India, organised by Messe Stuttgart, will be co-located, focusing on moulding, fasteners and fixing technologies.
The exhibition will also feature parallel events, including the ninth International Seminar on Forming Technology on January 22 and 23, the i2 Academia Square to enable research institutions to present R&D initiatives to industry, and the Jagruti-IMTMA Youth Programme aimed at familiarising young professionals with emerging manufacturing technologies.
Exhibitor group participation from Germany, Italy, Japan and Taiwan is expected to highlight advanced manufacturing innovations. Visitors from sectors such as automotive and auto components, aerospace and defence, medical equipment, power, railways, construction equipment, capital goods, electrical and electronics, white goods and heavy engineering are anticipated.
IMTMA President Mohini Kelkar said metal forming accounts for 29 per cent of the Indian machine tool market and is expected to grow steadily.
In FY25, consumption stood at Rs 9,139 crore, while production was valued at Rs 2,696 crore, with exports rising by about six per cent.
IMTMA Director General and CEO Jibak Dasgupta said laser and laser-based applications were gaining acceptance, with exhibitors showcasing fibre laser machines, servo presses, precision levellers, welding and 3D printing solutions, accelerating domestic manufacturing and exports.
