Royal Care Hospital marks World Breastfeeding week with awareness programmes

Royal Care Super Speciality Hospital celebrated World Breastfeeding Week through a series of awareness programmes organised by its Departments of Pediatrics and Neonatology in association with the Department of Clinical Nutrition.
The week-long programme featured a poster competition for nurses and students to promote awareness on the importance of breastfeeding and supporting nursing mothers. Awareness sessions were also conducted for nursing staff and parents, focusing on breastfeeding techniques, common challenges and the long-term health benefits for both mothers and infants.
A Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme for paediatricians, obstetricians and nutrition experts was organised as part of the celebrations. The discussions centred on evidence-based breastfeeding practices, maternal nutrition and the importance of creating a supportive environment for new mothers.
The programme was inaugurated by Dr. K. Madeswaran, Chairman and Managing Director of Royal Care Hospital, and Kala Madeswaran.
Dr. K. Madeswaran said the celebration reaffirmed the hospital’s commitment to maternal and child health and highlighted that breastfeeding is a shared responsibility and the foundation for healthier futures. He added that Royal Care Hospital continues to promote evidence-based and compassionate maternal and child healthcare.
