Sri Ramakrishna Polytechnic College hosted the state-level technical symposium Yentra 2K26 on February 6, drawing enthusiastic participation from diploma students across Tamil Nadu.
The symposium, organised on the college campus, witnessed 558 participants from over 45 polytechnic colleges representing various districts of the state.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Ms. Visaga Sivamani, a second-year Computer Engineering student.
In his inaugural address, Principal Dr. D. Gopalakrishnan outlined the objectives of Yentra 2K26, highlighting its technical significance and strong industry relevance. He emphasised the importance of such academic platforms in enhancing students’ practical knowledge and professional preparedness.
The event was presided over by Mr. D. Mahesh Kumar, Chief Executive Officer of SNR Sons Charitable Trust. Dr. R. Soundararajan, Principal of Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, attended as the Guest of Honour. The Chief Guest, Mr. M. Karthikeyan, President of CODISSIA, delivered an inspiring address, stressing the need for continuous skill development, innovation, and robust industry–institution interaction.
He also encouraged diploma students to pursue entrepreneurship and explore start-up opportunities.
Competitions were held under four categories, with winners receiving cash prizes of Rs. 5,000 for first place, Rs. 4,000 for second place, and Rs. 3,000 for third place in each category, along with certificates.
The symposium concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Bhanumathi, a first-year Electronics and Communication Engineering student. The event was efficiently coordinated by Dr. K. Jegadeeswaran, Head of the Computer Engineering Department.
