Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan will visit Coimbatore on Wednesday to inaugurate the GKNM Nursing College at GKNM Hospital in Pappanaickenpalayam.
The inauguration function is scheduled to be held at 5 p.m. The Vice President will arrive in Coimbatore from New Delhi by air and participate in the event, where he will formally inaugurate the nursing college and address the gathering.
After the programme, he will travel by road to Coimbatore International Airport and depart for New Delhi by flight later in the night.
In view of the Vice President’s visit, elaborate security arrangements have been made across the city. A large number of police personnel will be deployed under the supervision of Coimbatore City Police Commissioner Kannan to ensure foolproof security.
Meanwhile, drone operations have been prohibited from 11 a.m. on Tuesday until 11 a.m. on Thursday in Uppilipalayam, Race Course, Avinashi Road, Lakshmi Mills Junction, GKNM Hospital, Hopes, CODISSIA, Peelamedu, Chitra, Nehru Nagar, Kalapatti, Chinniampalayam and surrounding areas, which have been declared as Red Zones.
Authorities have warned that strict action will be taken against anyone violating the drone ban.
